EnPro Grid Technologies completed a lighting upgrade for Innovative Cold Storage's Otay Mesa facility, replacing early-generation LED fixtures that had begun to yellow and fail. Despite the existing system already being LED, the upgrade delivered a 2.5x increase in measured light levels while reducing lighting energy consumption by 47%. The result was a dramatically brighter, safer dock environment that supports daily operations more effectively.
By installing Linmore LED Commercial High Bay (CH3) fixtures with advanced Bluetooth controls and sensing technology, Innovative Cold Storage also eliminated lighting maintenance concerns for decades. With a 12.9-month breakeven, 47% ROI, and an expected fixture life approaching 30 years in this application, this project demonstrates how modern LED upgrades remain a high-return investment, even in facilities that already have LED lighting.
Light Level Improvements
Average measured light levels increased from 12 to 31 footcandles, a 258% increase improving safety, security, productivity and morale.
